3-Year Program
BEng in Computer Engineering (Honors Research Option)
This Honors Research Option aims at preparing students for a postgraduate study at graduate schools, as well as for a career in technology development and management in high-tech companies worldwide. To strengthen their basic mathematical training, students who join this Option are required to take MATH2121. In stead of Final Year Project, they are required to complete a Final Year Thesis under the supervision of ECE or CSE professors to address advanced R&D issues.
Once admitted, those who cannot maintain a CGA of 3.5 or above for more than 1 semester may be required to withdraw from the Option.
For students enrolled in Prior to Academic Year 2012-2013
Entrance Requirement
In the beginning of their Year 1 Spring Semester, students with CGA 3.5 or above are encouraged to apply to the CPEG Office for joining this Honors Research Option. Thereafter, students with a CGA of 3.5 or above in the latest two successive semesters are encouraged to apply and admission to the Option will be approved on a case by case basis. Once admitted, those who cannot maintain a CGA of 3.5 or above for more than 1 semester may be required to withdraw from the Option.
